Accreditation

Aviva Institute was designed to meet or exceed the standards for accreditation from Department of Education-approved agencies that specialize in Direct Entry Midwifery and Distance Education.

Our development team includes staff who served on the Board of Directors for MEAC, the Board of Directors of NARM, and various state licensing boards, as well as distance education specialists. However, we are a brand new school. While we are applying for accreditation right away, it is a time-consuming process, taking about two years; there is no guarantee that we will be accredited or pre-accredited from all agencies prior to student graduation. In the unlikely event that a student graduates prior to our becoming fully and formally accredited, we will assist the student in the PEP to meet the NARM criteria for CPM.

One of our primary goals is to provide financially accessible education, specifically eligibility for Title IV funds, the Federal Financial Aid program. For new schools, this is a lengthy process, which begins with accreditation.

While accreditation is a tool toward assuring the quality of educational programs, and is useful for transfer to other educational institutions, it is only one tool. We believe the unique model we have developed will be setting the standards for community-based health education in the future.

Aviva Institute is registered as a private institution with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to sections 136A.61 to 136A.71 Registration is not an endorsement of the institution. Registration does not mean that credits earned at the institution can be transferred to all other institutions.
