How is Aviva Institute different from other online programs?
This is not a correspondence course put on a web page. You are not expected to study on your own and find your own preceptor. This is an interactive learning environment, designed with best practices of distance education. You study with a cohort group; women like yourself provide peer support and enrich the program with their varied experiences and world views. There is a high degree of interaction with faculty. We recruited the best and brightest, most of whom have active birth practices. We promote learner involvement though the use of constructivism, the belief that people actively construct new knowledge as they interact with their environments. It is community-based designed to give students hands-on experience as early as possible.
