Scholarships and Work Study Positions

Scholarships for Open Enrollment Courses

There are limited partial scholarships available for some courses offered at Aviva Institute on a space available basis. Courses include: Childbirth Educator, Postpartum Doula, Perinatal Fitness Specialist.  

All scholarships are limited to low income students who would be unable to take the course at the full cost. Scholarships range from 10-50% of the course fee depending on the applicant’s income and family size ratio. Scholarships do not cover the cost of text books, you must be able to purchase these to apply for a scholarship. Some scholarships may be limited to those who will be working with families facing issues such as poverty, language issues, cultural differences, and racism.

Professional Education for Midwives

Limited full scholarships are available for midwives practicing in developing nations for continuing education courses and for some courses as a non matriculating student. Midwives must be currently practicing as a primary midwife, have excellent English and Internet access. 

 Work Study Student for Midwifery Core Courses

Aviva Institute offers a one work study/scholarship position per year to a student with strong adminstrative/office skills and an open time schedule, in addition we have an opening for someone with html/css/drupal experience.   Please contact us for more information. This is a separate application process than the one above.

CPM Scholarship

Aviva Institute is offering one scholarships a year for a CPM wishing to take the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery program but who otherwise would be unable to afford it. Scholarships will cover up to 50% off tuition, as well as a full waiver of enrollment and advanced placement fees.

Eligibility:

1. Be a currently registered Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)

2. Complete the Advanced Placement process.

3. Meet computer guidelines here.

4. Meet income guidelines.

Not available to currently matriculating students.
